Willow Dream Catcher Kit ~ DIY Kraft Kit ~ Native American Original Dreamcatcher
Traditional, authentic Native American willow dream catcher kit. A "found items" dream catcher with a single sea shell and a feather that has been picked up in my daily walks. This feather can be from any of our indigenous birds including seagull, raven, magpie, etc.
This is a one-of-a-kind dreamcatcher that you will create for yourself using the traditional method and materials of the Northern Alberta Cree people. I have included everything you will need in this kit including a brief write up on the tradition of the dream catcher and full instructions.
Every dream catcher is unique, so your kit is unique as well. These are hand gathered, traditional materials, not mass produced. The hoop is made using willow and is in the traditional "raindrop" or "snowshoe" shape of the Northern Canadian Cree. These willows can only be gathered in the spring before the sap is rising, so I have a limited number of kits available at any one time. The last 4 photos are of my husband cutting the willow and forming the hoops and of the collected feathers drying and the collected shells being drilled :)
They are all approximately 8 x 5.5 inches (20x14 cm) in size.
This would be a wonderful teaching resource for schools teaching Native American history and traditions, a badge project for Girl Scouts, or a great craft for a ladies "Wine & Crafts" night.
The finished dreamcatcher makes a beautiful rustic wall hanging or woodland crib mobile.
Thank you for visiting my shop and Many Blessings!
