This simple, boho necklace is perfect for everyday wear and can be worn alone or in a layered look.

I have set a full 2.5 grams of genuine turquoise chips into a gunmetal finished steel, 2 inch (5 cm) bar necklace using a light layer of resin to keep the chips in place. The resin does NOT cover the chips, and they are wonderfully chunky, natural and organic for a modern yet rustic, gypsy feel.

I have hung this gorgeous gemstone pendant on a lovely 24 inch (60 cm) chain of gunmetal plated brass in the Singapore twist style with a simple lobster claw clasp. It has a 3 inch (8 cm) extender chain and is finished off with a simple silver plated steel heart charm which I can personalize with a single, hand stamped initial for you.

Turquoise is the December birthstone as well as being the traditional gemstone gift for the 11th anniversary. It is associated with the Throat Chakra and is known as the "master healer"

Turquoise is perhaps the oldest stone in man’s history, the talisman of kings, shamans, and warriors. It is a stone of protection, strong and opaque, as if carved from an azure heaven and slipped to earth. The delicate veining or mottled webbing in cream or brown is inherent to the stone and serves to enhance its character.

The name Turquoise is derived from the French, pierre turquoise, meaning “Turkish stone,” because the trade routes that brought Turquoise to Europe from the mines in central Asia went through Turkey, and Venetian merchants often purchased the stone in Turkish bazaars.
