Genuine Alexandrite Gemstone Engagement Ring set in a Rose Gold Adjustable band.
This stunning ring is made up of a genuine 5x7mm Oval faceted Alexandrite gemstone that I have set into a dainty Heart Shoulder setting. The ring band is solid 925 Sterling Silver that has been plated in 14k Rose Gold. It is adjustable from a US size 5.5 to about a US 7.5 and does not lose it's shape or design with the adjustment. The tiny stones in the hearts are white sapphire.
This is a delicate, feminine, sweet, art deco style and would make a beautiful and unique promise ring, alternative engagement ring or simply a Valentines Day, Mothers Day or Anniversary Gift.
Because of this stone’s special characteristic to change color, it has also been called ‘emerald by day, ruby by night’. With its unique ability to exhibit two colors, Alexandrite will let you see both sides of an issue. It will link both your heart and mind so that they will always come from a dispassionate but enlightened perspective. Depending on the light source, this stone will appear green, purple or red and varying shades in-between.
Alexandrite is the June birthstone. It’s also the anniversary stone for 55 years of marriage. It’s quite a rare gemstone and a relatively modern one, owing to the fact that it was only first discovered in the 19th century compared to other stones with ancient histories.
Alexandrite can be found in Brazil, Russia, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, India, Myanmar, Zimbabwe, and Southern Tanzania. These particular stones I have purchased directly from India.
