This great GENUINE Turquoise and Buffalo Bone necklace can be worn by everyone! I have made it in a gender neutral style - if you like it then wear it! I have never placed style or color combos on my children as being "for boys" or "for girls" My one son was wearing pink shirts to school long before there was a "Pink Shirt Day" and he is hetero :) My very petite and feminine daughter absolutely LOVES edgy "masculine" jewelry. Don't let anyone else tell you what to wear - just be you!
That being said, here are a few details about this necklace. I have made it using larger raw turquoise nuggets and raw turquoise chips as well as buffalo bone hairpipe and carved buffalo bone beads. It is 18 inches long but can be adjusted up to 22 inches long if you like. It closes with a simple lobster claw clasp and I have finished the end of the chain with a silver plated feather.
Turquoise has long been a stone of choice in Native traditional regalia and used for trade goods and jewelry by tribes worldwide, as have carved and decorated animal bones.
The turquoise I use has coms from Arizona, United States, and it is a dark greenish/blue. The pictures do not do it justice. Comes gift boxed.
